Date and time set for Carabao Cup v Burnley

Manchester United’s 4-2 win over Aston Villa booked the club a place in the Carabao Cup fourth round, the last 16.

United have a home draw against Championship side Burnley, who are managed by Vincent Kompany.

The date and time for this fixture has now been confirmed, with the match to be shown live on Sky Sports.

This fixture is just three days after the World Cup final and United’s team is likely to comprise nearly entirely of players who won’t be going to the tournament, plus those who may suffer a group stage exit.

With Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham already eliminated, plus Liverpool and Manchester City drawn against each other, the Carabao Cup is a winnable competition.

United’s following fixture comes six days later with the Premier League returning.

Christian Eriksen is already eliminated from the World Cup and should be fresh to feature in this match.
