Alejandro Garnacho has entered his name into Manchester United’s record books after starting against West Ham.

The Red Devils resume their Premier League campaign on Sunday afternoon away to a struggling West Ham side.

Manchester United have endured a terrible start to the season and sit 13th in the Premier League table having won just three of their opening eight matches.

Alejandro Garnacho makes 100th Man United appearance

Alejandro Garnacho was named in the starting lineup for Manchester United to face West Ham, which means the 20-year-old is set to make his 100th appearance for the Red Devils.

Garnacho made his debut for United back in 2022 when he replaced Anthony Elanga in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

United’s young Argentine has gone from strength to strength ever since and is now a consistent starter under Ten Hag.

Garnacho has already made 13 appearances across all competitions this season and is going stride for stride with Kylian Mbappe after his strong start to the season.

Garnacho is emulating Cristiano Ronaldo this season as he makes a big leap to becoming a key player for United, and his 100th appearance against West Ham now ranks him as one of the more senior players in the side.

Only seven of Garnacho’s teammates have made 100 appearances for United. Marcus Rashford leads the way with 415, while Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof, Bruno Fernandes, Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire and Diogo Dalot have also hit the 100+ mark.

Man United starting lineup vs West Ham

United will be favourites against West Ham given that the Hammers have struggled under new manager Julen Lopetegui this season and sit 16th in the table.

Garnacho was named in Ten Hag’s starting lineup to face West Ham, but the Dutchman made changes in midfield and in defence.

It looks as though Noussair Mazraoui will return to the backline after his stint at No.10 against Fenerbahce, while Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro have returned in midfield.

Manuel Ugarte was excellent against Fenerbahce but has returned to the bench for the trip to London.
