Manchester United supporters have voted for the man of the match against Barcelona after a memorable 2-1 victory.

Goals from Fred and Antony helped United turn around a 1-0 deficit from the first half after a penalty had been awarded against Bruno Fernandes.

David de Gea almost kept it out too. But we don’t have to labour on that, after a stirring second half display saw United win 4-3 on aggregate.

It was a special night for the players and the fans, who stayed long after the final whistle to show appreciation for Erik ten Hag’s side.

Man of the match v Barcelona

Manchester United fans voted for the club’s man of the match via the club website and app.

While Marcus Rashford had won the previous four consecutive votes, there was a different winner this time around.

Fred was everywhere in the second half as United battled back into the game, spurred on by his goal. He now has five goals and four assists for the season so far.

It was clearly the right decision to start him alongside Casemiro in midfield, and this could be the cup final pairing on Sunday.
