Manchester United fans have been voting for their man of the match in the 1-0 win against Everton, and the winner was almost completely unanimous.
It was a massive three points for Michael Carrick as Manchester United beat Everton 1-0 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The victory furthers United’s claim on the top four, sitting three points behind third now, which would be a massive success if attained after where the season was heading earlier this season.
In the win over Everton, United had several players impress, primarily those in the defensive ranks. But when we asked United fans on TalkingPoints to vote for their man of the match, there was only one winner.

Senne Lammens voted the clear man of the match for Manchester United against Everton
While a handful of players had big roles in securing the three points for United, Senne Lammens was ultimately key. Lammens earned massive praise from Edwin van der Sar, and now his performance has been hailed by supporters.
We asked fans who they thought was the man of the match against the Toffees, and the response was definitive, with Lammens earning almost three-quarters of the vote.

- Matheus Cunha – 5%
- All others were on 2% or less.

This saw Lammens on 63%, Sesko on 19% and then Cunha on 6% as the only three noteworthy vote takers.
Following the game, Carrick said Lammens was immense, and clearly the fans agreed. Without Lammens, if United had Andre Onana, for example, Everton probably would have won that game, scoring a handful of goals.

Not only did Lammens take the vote, but the comments also saw plenty of praise for the Belgian.
“Lammens by a country mile. Remained calm for each corner when is goal mouth looked like a wrestling match. How is that allowed to happen???”, one fan commented.
While another added, “Senne Lammens, he is just phenomenal”.
A third said, “He saved and carried the team in the time we needed him”.
