Manchester United fans have had their say on the team’s man of the match against Arsenal.

Following on from a strong display at Anfield last week, Manchester United beat Arsenal on penalties to progress in the FA Cup.

The drama-filled cup tie saw Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring with a sublime second half strike before Diogo Dalot was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Two minutes after the red card, Arsenal scored the leveller through Gabriel. It gave the hosts momentum, but United defended well throughout the game.

Ruben Amorim’s first FA Cup clash ended in victory thanks to a successful penalty shootout.

United will face Leicester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Manchester United ran an official poll to decide on who was most deserving of the man of the match award.

There were multiple contenders for the accolade, with Harry Maguire having to settle for second place despite a solid performance in the heart of defence.

The top three are listed below, with Altay Bayindir winning the award.

Bayindir put in his best performance yet for United, denying penalties from Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz.

The Turkey international was handed a rare start as Andre Onana was left on the bench.

After a questionable display against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup, Bayindir redeemed himself with a confidence-boosting display.

Bayindir will grab the headlines after his heroic display at the Emirates Stadium.

It comes as no surprise that Amorim was happy with his back-up goalkeeper on Sunday evening because the result could have been very different without him.

Speaking to BBC, Amorim explained how hard Bayindir has been working for more opportunities in United’s first-team.

“He’s [Bayindir] a good guy, he works a lot and life has beautiful things,” Amorim said. “A few weeks ago we were suffering through a difficult moment but now he’s like a hero for us.

“All the players in this team who have the opportunity and they are lucky because they are playing for Manchester United. It doesn’t matter if you play one game or 90 games, its always a joy to play for this club.”
