Manchester United have discovered their opponents for the FA Cup fourth round.

The Reds face Premier League opponents yet again after a difficult FA Cup third round tie.

On Sunday, Manchester United won on penalties against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring with a magnificent strike in the second half prior to Diogo Dalot’s red card. United were reduced to 10 men shortly before Gabriel Magalhaes equalised through a deflected strike.

Ruben Amorim’s first game in the FA Cup went to penalties before United came out on top in the shootout. Altay Bayindir earned the man-of-the-match award after denying Arsenal on multiple occasions, including Martin Odegaard’s penalty in normal time.

United have been drawn with top-flight opponents again, but the tie will see a club legend return to Old Trafford.

Manchester United draw Leicester City in the FA Cup

The Reds have been drawn to face Leicester City in the next round of the FA Cup.

It will be the second time United have faced the Foxes in cup competitions this season, after a 5-2 Carabao Cup victory in October.

Leicester reached the fourth round after thrashing Queens Park Rangers at the King Power Stadium.

This might give Leicester a boost but it remains to be seen if they’ll gain the momentum required to avoid relegation this season.

The tie will be played between 7 and 10 February.

A slightly easier tie means United have a good chance to put together another run in the cup.

Return of Ruud van Nistelrooy

Ruud van Nistelrooy will return to Old Trafford for the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The former United striker served as a coach and interim boss before Amorim’s arrival led to his departure.

Van Nistelrooy’s return to United in the summer – as a coach – was short-lived due to Erik ten Hag getting sacked. He subsequently succeeded Steve Cooper at Leicester.

Their third-round win over QPR was Van Nistelrooy’s second win since becoming manager, although Leicester will still go into the next round as underdogs.

The Foxes’ fourth round trip will see Van Nistelrooy receive a warm reception from the Old Trafford faithful.
