Manchester United fans dropped an instant reaction to Kobbie Mainoo’s second-half cameo performance for the Red Devils in their 4-1 thrashing of Wolves on Monday.

The Red Devils travelled to the Molineux on Monday evening and Manchester United took the lead over Wolves in the 25th minute thanks to skipper Bruno Fernandes.

However, Wolves stunned United in first-half injury time after Jean‐Ricner Bellegarde cancelled out Bruno Fernandes’ opener and pulled Rob Edwards’ men level.

Wolves’ equaliser was short-lived after Diogo Dalot set up Bryan Mbeumo for United’s second of the Premier League contest only six minutes after the break.

Following on from Bryan Mbeumo’s impact, Fernandes picked up an assist after he clipped the ball to Mason Mount and the United No 7 scored a superb volley.

Fernandes made an impact in the first half and the 31-year-old United captain made his presence felt again by completing his brace from a penalty in the second half.

Kobbie Mainoo seizes his opportunity to impress in his Man Utd cameo performance vs Wolves

Mainoo has not made a single Premier League start for United in the 2025-26 campaign after losing his spot in the starting XI under manager Ruben Amorim.

The England international has been starved of important United first-team minutes and Mainoo has been restricted to making cameo appearances from the bench.

Mainoo has made 10 Premier League appearances this season and the Three Lions star’s cameo against Wolves is a reminder of his influence in the United midfield.

Amorim has not been able to escape the narrative around him of not picking Mainoo and the youth academy product showed on Monday what he is capable of for United.

Following the 4-1 thrashing of Wolves at the Molineux, United will not return to Premier League action until next Monday against Bournemouth.

Bournemouth will travel to Old Trafford to face the Red Devils, with the Premier League clash scheduled for an 8pm kick-off time in the UK.
