Manchester United fans spoke out on Luke Shaw’s display after Ruben Amorim started the player against Bournemouth in the Red Devils’ Premier League clash.
The Red Devils travelled to the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon to face ahead of Manchester United resuming their crucial 2024-25 Europa League campaign.
Ahead of the Bournemouth match, United languished in 15th place in the Premier League table and only picked up 10 wins in 33 matches in their abysmal season.
Ruben Amorim’s men suffered their 15th Premier League defeat of their campaign last Sunday after Wolves secured a 1-0 win over United at Old Trafford.
United are tipped for their worst finish in the Premier League era and the Red Devils are unlikely to end the 2024-25 season in the top half of the league table.
The Red Devils’ only hope of securing European football in the 2025-26 campaign is now fully dependent on lifting the Europa League trophy this season.
The Europa League trophy would offer Amorim his first piece of major silverware as United manager this season and offer the only route back to the Champions League.

Man Utd fans react to Luke Shaw’s display at the Vitality Stadium vs Bournemouth in the Premier League match
Luke Shaw made his first start for the Premier League club since February 2024 after the defender has been hit with another injury-hit season at Manchester United.
The 29-year-old United left-back had only made five appearances across all competitions in the 2024-25 season ahead of the Bournemouth match.
Shaw took his place as the left-sided centre-back in Ruben Amorim’s tactical system for United and the England defender’s performance caught the eye of United fans.
Red Devils supporters took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and didn’t hold back with their clear-cut verdict on Shaw’s overall performance.
“Luke Shaw has been MILES [sic] off the pace since his return… woeful,” one United fan said.
Someone else added: “Luke Shaw is not ready to play.”
“Yeah, Luke Shaw is off it, way off it,” another Red Devils supporter tweeted.
While a fourth X user wrote: “I never wanted to start [Harry] Amass against [Athletic] Bilbao, but we cannot play, Luke Shaw – no way, he looks so far off it. I’m watching a completely different player here.”
And a fifth posted: “Luke Shaw is not match sharp, way too slow on the ball back there.”
Somebody else claimed: “We definitely cannot start Luke Shaw in [matches] right now. Too slow. Too rusty.”
Another suggested: “Luke Shaw is fully done, ain’t he?”
“It looks [like] it’s been [three] years since Luke Shaw has played,” a seventh suggested.
What happened in the Premier League clash between Bournemouth vs Man Utd at the Vitality Stadium?
Bournemouth opened the scoring against United in the first half on Sunday after Antoine Semenyo fired a stunning low strike past a helpless Andre Onana.
Patrick Dorgu was dispossessed out on the left side by Adam Smith in a dangerous area before Evanilson set up Antoine Semenyo with a back heel in the United box.
Bournemouth took a 1-0 lead into half-time and the Cherries were reduced to 10 men in the second half after Evanilson was sent off in the 70th minute.
The Red Devils finally climbed back into the contest deep into injury time after struggling United striker Rasmus Hojlund found a crucial equaliser against Bournemouth.
United have played their final match in April and the Red Devils will now return to action in May with the next phase of their Europa League campaign.
The Red Devils will now travel to Spain next Thursday and will face La Liga outfit Athletic Club in the first leg of their crucial Europa League semi-final encounter.
United and Athletic Club will meet in the Europa League at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao on 1st May, with kick-off for the semi-final tie slated for 8pm UK time.
