Furious Manchester United fans made their feelings clear about Christian Eriksen and Casemiro after the Red Devils suffered a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim’s men were played off the park in the first half and Newcastle took full control of the Premier League match on Monday evening.
Newcastle took the lead inside five minutes after Alexander Isak turned in a close-range header past Andre Onana after connecting with Lewis Hall’s cross.
Eddie Howe’s side doubled their advantage after Anthony Gordon picked out Joelinton, who towered above Lisandro Martinez and headed past Andre Onana.
Manchester United went into half-time 2-0 down and the Red Devils were unable to pull themselves back into the contest after the break.
Ruben Amorim’s side have now lost their last four matches across all competitions since United’s 2-1 comeback win against Manchester City earlier this month.
The Red Devils languish in 14th place in the Premier League table after their third consecutive Premier League defeat under United manager Amorim.
United have only managed six league wins in 19 matches in the 2024-25 campaign and the Red Devils are only seven points above the Premier League drop zone.

Casemiro and Eriksen’s tragic performances
Ruben Amorim made the bold call to start Casemiro alongside Christian Eriksen in the heart of midfield for Monday’s 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford.
The 39-year-old Portuguese manager was without Manuel Ugarte due to suspension and Kobbie Mainoo had to settle for a place on the bench against Newcastle.
However, United’s midfield was overloaded with Casemiro and Eriksen in the middle and the Red Devils were 2-0 down after only 20 minutes.
Amorim was forced into making an early change after he hooked off Joshua Zirkzee, who was playing as one of the two No 10s, in the 33rd minute at Old Trafford.
Kobbie Mainoo came on for Joshua Zirkzee and the England star slotted into midfield, with Eriksen moving into a more advanced position on the pitch.
The tempo settled with Mainoo’s arrival in midfield and the 19-year-old Stockport-born midfielder offered more in his partnership with Casemiro.
Furious Man Utd fans react to Casemiro and Eriksen
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, pulled no punches towards Casemiro and Eriksen after their woeful performances.
Red Devils supporters were baffled by Amorim’s decision to play Casemiro and Eriksen together, with one fan saying the move was “always asking for trouble.”
“[A] Casemiro and Eriksen midfield [at] the end of 2024,” one fan said.
Another X user wrote: “Casemiro and Eriksen, we shouldn’t have to see them ever again starting together for Manchester United.”
Someone else tweeted: “I can only imagine what Amorim thinks of those players. To be fair, selecting Eriksen and Casemiro in midfield should never happen again.”
A third added: “Starting Casemiro and Eriksen in any [match] is a criminal offence for any manager.”
“I don’t understand Amorim starting Eriksen and Casemiro in central midfield,” another posted.
While a fifth fan argued: “Starting Casemiro and Eriksen is always asking for trouble.”
And a sixth said: “I’m still reeling from that opening 30 minutes, absolutely mauled It was blatantly obvious the Casemiro-Eriksen pairing [was] going to be overran.”
Somebody else suggested: “Never play Casemiro and Eriksen in [the] same team! Much, much better second half… Worst first 30 [minutes] I’ve seen!”
Another simply said: “Ruben Amorim absolutely made the wrong choice today with Eriksen and Casemiro.”
