Manuel Ugarte is turning into a bit of a warrior for Manchester United.

The Uruguayan midfielder put on another fine display for United against Arsenal, which included some fiery moments.

None more so than the half-headbutt on Kai Havertz, following the dubious Andy Madley penalty decision in the first half. Roy Keane-esque from Ugarte.

However, what happened after the record-breaking Altay Bayindir saved Martin Odegaard’s penalty wasn’t detected by TV cameras – but was by fans in the stands.

Manuel Ugarte and Lisandro Martinez give it to Kai Havertz after missed penalty

After Bayindir’s heroics, fan footage shows Havertz in another small tussle with Ugarte and fellow South American Lisandro Martinez.

Manchester United players have been criticised in the past for not showing enough bite in big fixtures. This certainly feels like a turning point.

Ruben Amorim’s side were a little nastier than usual against the Gunners, and that ultimately got them through to extra time.

However, it’s not all good news. A Diogo Dalot red sees him earn a suspension, and Ugarte could also be in trouble.

Will Manuel Ugarte receive a ban for his headbutt?

According to the Mirror, with no VAR in the third and fourth rounds of the FA Cup, Ugarte risks a three-match ban for violent conduct if deemed guilty.

Referee Andy Madley did not spot the incident – meaning Ugarte got away scot-free against Mikel Arteta’s side.

Whether a ban comes to fruition or not remains to be seen – but it was a little naughty from the Manchester United midfielder.
