Manchester United are back in the win column after a 2-1 victory over Brentford at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag’s sigh of relief could be heard from space after Rasmus Hojlund completed the comeback against Brentford on Saturday.

Hojlund chipped Mark Flekken after Bruno Fernandes‘ utterly sensational flick found the Dane in on goal.

This was after Alejandro Garnacho had pulled one back through a volley, which he finished nicely after a great cross from Marcus Rashford.

The game finished Manchester United 2-1 Brentford, and after the full-time, there were two players in line for praise from Ten Hag.

Erik ten Hag admits he enjoyed Marcus Rashford display

The Dutchman needed three points here, and that is exactly what he got thanks to his attacking quartet who came alive in the second half.

Rashford was among those to impress while playing in a somewhat unfamiliar right-wing position and for his outing, Ten Hag has been full of praise.

As quoted by Laurie Whitwell, the United boss raved about the 26-year-old.

“Really enjoyed how he played, you see what he’s capable of. A LOT. We want this every game, really intense + then a brilliant cross. Starts with fighting spirit. When we all bring this we have a team that can play for trophies.”

Rashford created four chances in the game and could very well have had more than one assist if Garnacho had been lethal in front of goal.

But as good as the Englishman was, his outing was overshadowed by Casemiro.

Alejandro Garnacho also a shining light for Manchester United

Of the four chances Rashford created, the vast majority were for Garnacho – with the Argentine having eight shots in the game.

Garnacho snapped up his fifth goal of the season for United and was the subject of some praise from Ten Hag who discussed the 20-year-old having a goal target this season.

“He has to if he wants to be a better player. I know what he is capable of, that’s why I play him so often. He is a threat + has scoring abilities but also a threat in one v ones. The end product is what we need + missed in the first games.”

For all of the frustrating moments Garnacho provides with his finishing sometimes poor, he has been the star of this season to date.

When playing as a left-winger this season, Garnacho has averaged a goal or assist every 59 minutes which is a sensational return if he can keep it up.
