Erik ten Hag has moved to praise one Manchester United defender for his ‘brilliant’ performance against Liverpool.
Manchester United are basking in the glow of one of their greatest victories over fierce rivals Liverpool as they twice came from behind to win a remarkable FA Cup quarter-final 4-3.
United took an early lead through Scott McTominay and were performing well until a calamitous three minutes saw Liverpool score twice before the break.
The failings of Erik ten Hag’s side were appearing to haunt them again but Antony struck late on to send the match to extra time.
The rollercoaster ride continued as Harvey Elliott restored Jurgen Klopp’s side’s lead in the first portion.
But then Marcus Rashford finally found the back of the next to level things up before Alejandro Garnacho teed up Amad for a dramatic late winner.
Garnacho was fantastic in the match and there were big performances from Rashford, McTominay and Bruno Fernandes too.
But Ten Hag has picked out Aaron Wan-Bissaka for his fine display as well.

Erik ten Hag praises Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Speaking to ITV, the manager said: “We are ready.
“We are on a run from January on where we make a lot of wins.
“Despite all the injuries we have, all the problems. Also yesterday another setback, we had to drop out from Jonny Evans in the last minute of the training and then we had to adjust.
“And then Azza [Wan-Bissaka] didn’t train for many weeks, he came in, I thought he played brilliant.”
A great performance
For someone playing his first match since mid-January and out of position on his weaker side, Wan-Bissaka was excellent.
The full-back kept Mohamed Salah quiet for the majority of the game, even if the Egypitan did manage to score a fortunate rebound.
Wan-Bissaka didn’t allow him much else in a solid defensive display. Perhaps even more impressive, though, was his attacking play.
It’s never been the 26-year-old’s strong suit but against Liverpool, he showed plenty of good movement and interplay with the forwards as well as some lovely touches and skill.
United have just gotten a very important player back and hopefully, he can keep this performance level up.
