While none of Manchester United’s World Cup representatives formed part of the 29-man squad that made the trip to Spain, Ten Hag has still named a strong team for the clash which kicks off at 7pm at the Nuevo Mirandilla.

Despite being part of the travelling party, Ten Hag’s number one David de Gea doesn’t form part of the matchday squad.

Martin Dubravka, who was Ten Hag’s final summer signing, makes his second appearance for United after making his debut in the Carabao Cup win against Aston Villa.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka makes his first start under the former Ajax manager while Teden Mengi and Brandon Williams are set to make their first appearances under the 52-year-old.

Zidane Iqbal, who impressed on Tour 22, starts in midfield alongside Scott McTominay, who captains the side, and Donny van de Beek.

The three-time Eredivisie winning manager has named a pacey forward line with Anthony Elanga, Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Martial hoping to get on the scoresheet against the Spanish opposition.

Despite spending the second half of last season on loan at Sevilla, Martial missed the games against United’s next two opponents Cadiz and Real Betis while on loan at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
