Donny van de Beek coming into the side is one of four changes, with Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof both returning to the starting line-up along with Marcus Rashford.

Raphael Varane has been rested, along with Tyrell Malacia, while there is no place for Antony in the squad.

Diogo Dalot and Lisandro Martinez both return to the bench for the first time since the World Cup.

United entered this week of action in fourth place, and can potentially move above Newcastle, who face Arsenal tonight.

Liverpool lost last night to Brentford, allowing the Red Devils to open up a further gap on Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Last year United lost the first game of 2022 at home to Wolves. It is important to get off to a strong start in 2023, after ending December strongly.

Bournemouth have lost four of their last five games, including the two they have played since the World Cup.
