Club football is back, and Manchester United will be in action on Saturday afternoon against Wrexham. Now, Michael Carrick’s squad travelling to Finland has been confirmed.

It has been nearly two months since Manchester United played a match, but at 4 pm on Saturday, all focus will be shifted towards preparations for the 2026/27 season.

United take on Wrexham in Helsinki to kick-start the 2026 summer tour, which will be around Europe.

The first game of the tour will be without those who played at the World Cup. So here is the academy-dominated squad that will be flying north for Saturday’s clash with the Championship outfit.

IF Andrey Santos is available to play Wrexham, who would you like to see him start alongside out of the available options?

Manchester United’s travelling squad to face Wrexham in friendly

Carrick has taken the strongest squad he possibly could to Helsinki, with some intriguing academy involvement.

Goalkeepers: Tom Heaton, Radek Vitek, Dermot Mee.

Defenders: Harry Maguire, Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu, Leny Yoro, Luke Shaw, Ayden Heaven, Harry Amass, Jaydan Kamason, Dan Armer.

Midfielders: Mason Mount, Andrey Santos, Jack Fletcher, Tyler Fletcher, Toby Collyer, Dan Gore, Jacob Devaney, Jim Thwaites.

Forwards: Joshua Zirkzee, Bryan Mbeumo, Chido Obi, Ethan Wheatley, Shea Lacey, Ethan Williams.

Andrey Santos to make unofficial debut?

United have had a really busy week regarding transfers, and two of the three could feature here.

United signed Andrey Santos from Chelsea for a fee of £48m, which is a bit of a bargain in today’s game. Santos has already been in training all week and is probably set to start against Wrexham for United.

Meanwhile, Karl Darlow also signed this week, but he won’t be playing and will instead remain in Manchester to recover from an injury.

Youri Tielemans won’t be playing, though, as after signing this week, he still has a few weeks of holiday following his World Cup quarter-finals exit.
