Chris Sutton drops ‘pretty damning’ verdict on ‘ordinary’ Man Utd after 2-0 loss to West Ham

Manchester United suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of West Ham on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League.

Erik ten Hag will be fuming as his side once again suffered a defeat – their 13th of the season – at the London Stadium.

The result was one that fans had been dreading and meant it’s now one win in five and will once again raise questions over Ten Hag’s ability to lead this team.

The 2-0 defeat for Manchester United came against a former manager too, who was sacked in 2014 and since went on to turn West Ham into European champions.

After the defeat BBC pundit Chris Sutton slammed United while poking at the early sacking of Moyes after less than a season.

After the game Sutton took to X with a blasting review of United’s afternoon and season as a whole.

“Maybe Manchester United should have had a bit more faith in David Moyes all those years ago…tremendous job he’s done at West Ham.

“Manchester United are so ordinary. Only the bottom 4 have scored less goals than Manchester United this season… that’s pretty damning…”

This is what saw United break an unwanted 31-year club record.

How many goals have Manchester United scored this season?

Manchester United have scored just 18 goals this season having played 18 games which – for a side that’s supposed to be top – is a very poor return.

Matters are made worse by the fact United have conceded 23 – leaving Ten Hag’s side with a -5 goal difference.

The goal scoring has been poor due to the forwards being remarkably poor in front of goal with the entire group of forwards having just four goals between them all campaign.
