Ruben Amorim’s Red Devils advance in the FA Cup, whilst Mikel Arteta’s side crash out in round four.

It was a day of celebration for Manchester United fans, but it could have panned out so much differently. After Diogo Dalot’s red card and an immediate Arsenal equaliser – the game looked destined to only be heading in one direction.

However, United had some insane performances against the Gunners, which led to Ruben Amorim’s side holding onto the draw until extra time and then advancing to penalties.

It was a record-breaking man in Bayindir who was the hero. The Turk, after being written off at United, produced a man-of-the-match performance with two penalty saves. Bayindir certainly won United fans back over.

Whilst it was the goalkeeper who will be feeling relief from building pressure, so will another Manchester United man, Joshua Zirkzee. After a few terrible weeks for the Dutchman, his cameo against Arsenal was more than bright.

Joshua Zirkzee’s Manchester United career may have hit a turning point vs Arsenal

A man who’s had it tough for the Red Devils, when Zirkzee was introduced against Arsenal – many United fans won’t have expected much.

However, what they were treated to was a sensational cameo. Zirkzee was given the tough task of leading the line for the 10 men of Manchester United, often isolated in the Arsenal half.

He ran his socks off, created chances, held up play and more. He was one of the major catalysts of getting the Red Devils over the line in extra time. Not only this, he also helped out on defensive duties.

Zirkzee stats vs Arsenal
39 minutes played
18 touches
2/3 successful dribbles
1/1 accurate long balls
2 clearances
1/1 shot accuracy
1 pass into final third

Not to mention, his game-winning penalty, which he celebrated on social media – much to the delight of other Manchester United stars.

Chido Obi and others loved Zirkzee’s Instagram post

Zirkzee took to Instagram after the Manchester United vs Arsenal clash to post his celebrations against the Gunners accompanied with the following message. It read: ‘And it is god!’

Manchester United teammates reacted to this. Altay Bayindir responded with a heart, as did former Arsenal academy star Chido Obi. He loved Zirkzee getting one over his ex-club.

Bruno Fernandes wrote: ‘The script was written some time ago bro’, whilst Lisandro Martinez commented ‘Hermano’. Toby Collyer was also present in the comments section.

Zirkzee is evidently a well-liked member of the United squad and has a good support network. The job of Manchester United fans is to now keep the positive vibes up for the Dutchman.

There is talent there, as United see in glimpses. Zirkzee will get there. Baby steps.
