Manchester United fans wasted no time reacting to one first-team player who offers “absolutely” nothing after Ruben Amorim’s men suffered their defeat to Wolves.
The Red Devils are 14th in the Premier League table and are now level on points with 13th-place Everton and 15th-place Wolves with five league matches remaining.
Wolves inflicted a 1-0 defeat on Manchester United and Vitor Pereira’s men have sealed all three Premier League points at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Ruben Amorim’s side put in a strong performance at times in the 1-0 Premier League defeat, but United’s lack of ruthlessness in the final third was on full display.
United and Wolves played a 0-0 scoreline at Old Trafford in the first half before Vitor Pereira’s side made the breakthrough in the second half of the Premier League tie.
Wolves won a free-kick against United in a dangerous position and Pablo Sarabia stepped up and curled a superb strike into the top corner past Andre Onana.
Pablo Sarabia’s free-kick was the difference-maker on Sunday and Amorim’s men were unable to rally back at Old Trafford before the full-time whistle.
United have only managed 10 Premier League wins in their lacklustre 2024-25 campaign and the Red Devils have lost a staggering 15 times this season.
The Red Devils are on course for their worst finish in the Premier League era and United face a real challenge in trying to secure a place in the top half of the table.

Mason Mount’s performance vs Wolves in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford catches the eye of Man Utd fans
Mason Mount returned for Manchester United after the March international break and the former Chelsea ace has been picking up important first-team minutes.
The 26-year-old United star’s season has once again been disrupted by injuries and Mason Mount has spent time on the sidelines ahead of his phased return.
United manager Ruben Amorim has been carefully managing Mount’s comeback and the former England international has mainly been coming off the bench for cameos.
Mount again came off the bench for United after Amorim withdrew Kobbie Mainoo in the second half of the 1-0 Premier League defeat to Wolves on Sunday.
The ex-Blues star had very little impact against Wolves and Mount also missed two clear-cut chances to find an equaliser for United in the dying stages of the contest.
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, were left deeply confused by Mount’s role under Amorim after his performance against Wolves.
“Mason Mount offers Manchester United absolutely [nothing], collecting a wage is all he’s doing,” one X user wrote.
While another said: “What exactly does Mason Mount do? I am genuinely asking.”
“At no point has the Mason Mount signing made any sense for United,” someone else suggested.
A fourth United fan tweeted: “Signing Mason Mount and giving him the [No] 7 jersey still has me a bit puzzled.”
“Mason Mount’s time at United is over,” another Red Devils supporter argued.
Somebody else added: “Whatever top-class quality Mason Mount had has left him. He’s as much of a drain on wages as Luke Shaw. It won’t be easy, but sell him this summer, if it’s possible.”
Another posted: “Please, let’s have [an] honest [conversation] about Mason Mount, TBH, I’m fed up with him [because] he is just useless and lacks purpose in this team. This is not [an] agenda.”
And an eighth simply claimed: “I think it’s time to move on from Mason Mount.”
Ruben Amorim’s position remains clear on Man Utd’s quality in the final third after Wolves’ 1-0 Premier League win at Old Trafford
Mason Mount, who is under contract until 2028, has played in 18 matches across all competitions this season and has not scored or picked up an assist.
Amorim admitted that United’s inability to score in the final third is the “biggest problem” facing his side after their setback against Wolves at Old Trafford.
“If you don’t score goals, you don’t win games,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live, as per BBC Sport.
“We need to score goals. There was a time we didn’t score, but we didn’t create.
“We have a lot of chances to score, but we didn’t score – that’s the biggest problem for our team.”
Bournemouth will now host United at the Vitality Stadium on 27th April, with the Premier League clash slated for kick-off at 2pm UK time.
