Manchester United are through to the fourth round of the FA Cup after a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Arsenal on Sunday.

If any Manchester United fan wanted a relaxing Sunday afternoon, Ruben Amorim’s men had other ideas.

United headed on the road to Arsenal for a third round FA Cup tie and, rather dramatically, ended up booking a spot in round four.

Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring with a sublime goal before Diogo Dalot picked up a rather naive red card.

Arsenal piled on the pressure with Gabriel Magalhaes levelling the score before the Gunners missed a boatload of chances.

They were made to pay as United scored five from five in the penalty shootout, securing a victory and a spot in the next round – despite criticism for referee Andy Madley.

United will face Leicester City and Ruud van Nistelrooy and Leicester City in the next round of the competition.

Anthony Elanga on Leny Yoro penalty

Altay Bayindir made himself a hero with a fine penalty save from Kai Havertz but United’s spot kicks simply gave David Raya no chance.

Arsenal goalkeeper Raya went the wrong way on every single penalty as Bruno, Amad Diallo, Leny Yoro, Lisandro Martinez and Joshua Zirkzee all scored.

Yoro had no qualms about stepping up with the young defender slotting his penalty home with real aplomb.

United signed Yoro from Lille over the summer and Amorim must be delighted with the nerve Yoro showed to score from the spot.

Yoro has taken to Instagram to celebrate, simply posting ‘this feeling’ as United progressed into round four.

United teammates Toby Collyer, Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee and Bruno Fernandes all showed their support for Yoro.

There was even a message from former United winger Anthony Elanga as he offered a joke towards the French defender.

“Since when do you know how to score penalties” said Elanga, who is now flying high in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest.

Elanga offered laughing and love heart emojis to Yoro, showing his support at United’s dramatic FA Cup win.

Leny Yoro surely set to start against Southampton

United fans, players and staff can enjoy this win but the games keep coming thick and fast right now.

Amorim is already preparing to face Southampton on Thursday with Premier League action the focus once again.

Yoro started Sunday’s game on the bench but came on for Harry Maguire during the second half.

Amorim has regularly rotated his defensive options since arriving at Old Trafford and may do so again on Thursday night.

Frenchman Yoro will surely be in his thinking for a start as he continues to adjust to life in the Premier League.
