Manchester United defeated PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday night to end a three-game drawing streak in the competition.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy continued his unbeaten spell as the head coach of Manchester United with a second win in three games – building on the 1-1 draw against Chelsea.
A 2-0 win at Old Trafford over Greek champions PAOK was enough to drag United back into the knockout stage qualification stages.
Both goals were scored by Amad Diallo, with his second, in particular, being a special goal that sent a real message to Ruben Amorim.
However, he was not the only player to make a statement performance in the game.

Victor Lindelof puts in his best performance in a year
So while Amad was far and away the best player on the pitch and Casemiro was also picked out on MUTV for his performance, Victor Lindelof deserves plenty of praise.
The Swedish defender has not played a lot of football in the last year, but against PAOK we got to see his best performance in a very long time – arguably all the way back to his goal scoring outing against Luton on November 11th 2023.
Lindelof was among the very best on the pitch after the other worldly Amad and it is clear to see why his performance was so highly rated.
- 62/70 passes (89%)
- 82 touches
- 1/1 dribbles
- 1/2 tackles
- 2 clearances
- 2 interceptions
- 7 defensive actions
- 8 recoveries
- 0 dribbled past
- 12 duels won
It was a more than solid performance from Lindelof as he showed his ultimate level at this stage in his career.
It was a display which will impress Amorim and give him ideas about potentially saving Lindelof’s United career.
Ruben Amorim will be impressed with Manchester United No.2
Against PAOK, Lindelof was the best we have seen him in a long time, reminding many fans of the quality he possesses.
This performance got us thinking, perhaps Lindelof has a future at Manchester United after all.

Amorim’s three-man defence means an extra centre-back is needed and with his expert passing, he could fall into favour with Amorim.
Lindelof’s history in Portugal could also end up beneficial for the Swede as he looks to re-gain an important role within the United squad.
