Manchester United ace Alejandro Garnacho has celebrated on social media after beating Everton on Saturday afternoon.
United bounced back from the derby day defeat to Manchester City by claiming a 2-0 win over Everton.
Two penalties did the job for United with Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford both scoring from the penalty spot.
Winger Alejandro Garnacho won both penalties with some superb wing play, leaving Everton defenders bamboozled.
This wasn’t a particularly thrilling United performance but Garnacho’s talent offered a real spark.
Alejandro Garnacho celebrates
Garnacho has taken to Instagram to celebrate, posting photos from Saturday’s victory and from his personal life.
The Argentinian is seemingly enjoying life right now and there was even a reply from striker Rasmus Hojlund.
The United striker is out injured right now but was keeping a close eye on Saturday’s result and Garnacho’s display.
Hojlund simply stated ‘viva Garnacho’, joining in the now-famous chant from United supporters.
It may only be a riff on the old Cristiano Ronaldo chant but Garnacho is one player United fans have very, very high hopes for and believe he can become a superstar.
Maybe the Ronaldo comparisons we have seen in the past are a little lofty, but the chant, the number 17, the trickery… there are certain parallels between the two and Garnacho is known to be a big fan of the Portuguese star.
Garnacho progressing well
Garnacho is still only 19 but has racked up 20 Premier League starts this season alongside six substitute appearances.
First-team exposure appears to be working well for Garnacho, who has now bagged five goals and three assists this season.
Saturday’s display showed what Garnacho can do, luring defenders in with rash challenges before breezing past them in style.
We need to see more consistent end product from Garnacho, but that will hopefully come with time.
The raw talent is certainly there and we would imagine that both Garnacho and Hojlund will be vital players for United in the years to come.
