Bruno Fernandes has joked that Alejandro Garnacho has been watching too many clips of Cristiano Ronaldo following his spectacular goal for Manchester United.
Alejandro Garnacho scored a stunning overhead kick and has, understandably, received all of the praise in the aftermath of the 3-0 win at Goodison Park.
The Argentine winger struck a superb overhead kick with just three minutes on the clock and that really was the moment that won the game for the Red Devils, despite the pressure being applied by the hosts in the first half.
It looks to be a confidence-boosting moment for the 19-year-old and the hope will be that he can kick on from here.

Fernandes on Garnacho
Speaking to ESPN after the win in Merseyside, United captain Bruno Fernandes was full of praise for the Argentine and believes he’s been watching too many clips of former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
“It’s amazing, something out of this world, I think,” Fernandes said. “Probably he’s watching too many Cristiano clips! We all know that he’s a big fan.
“There is still a long way for him to be like Cristiano but he’s getting his steps.
“He wants to be something special in the world of football and I think he has the capability to do that, but he has to do more than that goal.”
Fernandes on confidence-boosting win
As well as this, the confidence within the squad seemed to be back, particularly with the manner in which they scored their third goal after good work from Facundo Pellistri and Fernandes in the build-up to Anthony Martial’s finish.
“The confidence levels are always high because you play for such a big club,” he said.
“Your confidence has to be high every time because you know the expectations of this club, expectations on yourself, expectations from your teammates.”
The Red Devils have two massive games this week as they bid to make progress in the league and the Champions League.
They travel to Istanbul to face Galatasaray before a tough task against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United at St James’ Park, who dismantled Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea 4-1 last weekend.
