Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was asked about Cristiano Ronaldo‘s situation at his press conference ahead of the Melbourne Victory friendly.
The manager gave a brief response, commenting: “We made a statement and nothing has changed.”
Ten Hag previously said that Ronaldo is ‘not for sale’, part of his plans, with the door open for him to return to the United first team.
United’s official stance over Ronaldo a week ago read: “He has been granted additional time off to deal with a family issue.”

Cristiano Ronaldo breaks silence
The exact circumstances of Ronaldo’s ‘family issue’ are unknown, and while that has every right to stay private, it leaves Manchester United fans in the dark.
Ronaldo has been linked with an exit, but his short list of options are rapidly dwindling, with Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG all ruling themselves out.
For his part, Ronaldo has now posted his first Instagram post in more than two weeks – excluding paid advertising posts.
He shared a picture from the gym, with a brief accompanying message reading, ‘hard work’.
Ronaldo’s future still remains uncertain, but this message indicates he is now turning his mind towards the new season again, wherever his future lies.
United would happily take him out on tour for the team’s two remaining games in Australia after tomorrow’s match. Whether Ronaldo wants to, is down to him. Hopefully soon we will get some answers.
