Yurvaj Singh praises Ronaldo
Ronaldo’s goal against Brentford helped United to a win on Monday night, signing off the season at Old Trafford in the final home game.
Singh, a United supporter who has 5.7 million Twitter followers, praised Ronaldo’s ‘amazing consistency’, labelling him the best ever, commending how well he had performed in such a difficult season for the club.
He also paid tribute to Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic, who started their final home games.
Singh knows a thing or two about sporting excellence, as a two-time IPL champions and record holder for the fastest ever T20 fifty. Retiring in 2019 at 50, he is one of the best known Indian cricketers of his generation.
Now 40, he clearly appreciates how Ronaldo is still playing football at such a high level, as do we all. While United’s on-pitch performances have not been up to scratch, that’s nothing new on the last eight years.
Ronaldo has ensured his legacy remains strong. He has not come back to United and flopped, quite the opposite. He is upholding high standards, scoring more goals than any of his Red Devils teammates, by a considerable distance.
