The likes of Shola Shoretire, Ethan Wheatley, Joe Hugill, Shea Lacey and so many more are killing it for the Under 18 and 21s side this season.
However, United’s academy is very vast. They have teams for pretty much all ages, including under 16s, where one young man made a huge statement against Newcastle at the weekend.

Who is Amir Ibragimov?
Amir Ibragimov is an academy footballer for Manchester United.
He started his career in English football in the academy of Sheffield United. After impressing, he was scouted by Manchester United.
He has since become one of Carrington‘s most exciting young talents, captaining both the under-14 and under-15 sides during his progression through the academy – scoring a bucketload of goals along the way.
How old is Amir Ibragimov?
Amir Ibragimov was born on April the 2nd 2008, which means at the time of writing this he is just 15 years old.
He currently features predominantly for the Manchester United U16s side but has previously played for the U18s.
What country is Amir Ibragimov from?
Ibragimov hails from Russia and was born in the Dagestan Republic. He came to England when he was just eleven years old.
Because of this, he has represented England at youth international level.
What position does Amir Ibragimov play?
He is predominantly a left-winger, but he can play anywhere across the front three – including as a striker.
Ibragimov is very versatile for his age and is seriously good enough to hold his own anywhere in attacking phases.

This kid is an absolute talent. Manchester United youth coach Raducio King said the following about Amir Ibragimov back in October 2023:
“There aren’t many I’ve seen that can run like him. I could see him playing as a No 10, like a Wayne Rooney role, driving forward, tackling, attacking, you name it.”
