Manchester United wonderkid Chido Obi-Martin has made an impression at academy level already for the club.
Arriving with a big reputation, Chido Obi-Martin has only added to it since joining Manchester United and quitting Arsenal.
Obi-Martin has scored five goals in five league games for United’s under-18s, averaging a goal every 50 minutes.
He also has an assist, and recently provided an assist at under-21 level too. His recent goals saw him set a record, as the highest goalscorer at under-18s level since records began.

What’s next for Chido Obi
Chido Obi-Martin has just turned 17, and the young striker is making plans as his career continues to develop, as he targets the first team.
One thing in the pipeline is a possible name change. According to The Mail, Chido Obi-Martin has told Manchester United staff he simply wants to be referred to as Chido Obi.
At youth level, players only have numbers on the back of their shirts, rather than names and numbers.
So while we have to wait for him to reach the first team to really see how permanent his proposed name change is, the club have given a little indication it could be for real.
United’s under-18s page on the club website lists the striker as Chido Obi, dropping the Martin suffix from his surname.
United In Focus will subsequently be updating Chido Obi’s forthcoming pages on our site to match the young striker’s preferred name.
Chido Obi going the extra mile
It is also claimed Chido Obi has enlisted the help of an individual coach to aid his development, and help him fulfil his potential.
This is on top of his training sessions at Carrington, with Chido Obi clearly determined to prove that joining Manchester United was the right career move.
Obi is working with RH Elite Coaching, run by Ryan Hopper, who has previously worked behind the scenes with Diogo Dalot.
While Manchester United could add some youngsters into the Europa League squad this week, Chido Obi unfortunately won’t be among them.
His move to United came after the Europa League deadline, so he is ineligible for the group stages of the competition.
