The Manchester United first-team might have fixtures coming thick and fast, sometimes too fast for Ruben Amorim’s liking, but the same can’t be said for the academy.
The Man Utd U21s were in action for the first time in a month recently against Aston Villa U21s due to the game last weekend getting canceled.
On a positive note, it meant Sekou Kone didn’t miss another game, as he made his return from injury in the 2-1 win over the Villans’ young side.
Kone came off injured on November 12, his first start for the U21s, halting a rise that was expected to see him hover around the first-team picture by the end of the season.
After Kone’s exciting return from injury, he has sent a promising message to the fans with a positive outlook toward the future.

Sekou Kone’s message after Man Utd injury return
Kone played 79 minutes against Aston Villa in a return that will leave the coaches plenty hopeful about his future prospects.
That is because he shone in that time and to just play 79 minutes after being out for two months due to injury speaks volumes about his match fitness.
After the game, Kone went on Instagram and posted a message for the fans signalling his return and his hopes for the future.
He wrote: “I thank God for my return to the field after my injury, I am ready to give my all again inshallah,” adding five emojis at the end.
Responses poured in from his teammates, with Jack Kingdon replying with a heart and fire emoji, Jack Fletcher writing “my brother” in French, and Sam Murray writing “my man” in French.
Kone has clearly become a popular figure in the dressing room in quick time which should stand him in good stead going forward.
Man Utd will have high expectations from Kone
Kone has so far been held back a bit due to not being physically ready but in that sense, an injury absence would have been a useful window of opportunity for him.
Kone came back from the two-month hiatus with his frame filled to some extent compared to what it was when he joined the club.
Without the pressure of playing games, he clearly concentrated on getting his physique ready and the starting results look promising.
It seems like he will spend this season with the U21s, focusing on getting to grips with the English game as well as getting his body ready for the rigours of a physical style of football.
The next pre-season could decide his trajectory with regard to the his first-team prospects but United clearly have a special talent on their hands.
