Manchester United prospect Ruben Curley had his best game yet for Manchester United’s under-18s side.

The comeback is complete. 18-year-old midfield prospect Ruben Curley is now officially making up for lost time at Manchester United.

Curley made his under-18s debut in 2022, before suffering a torn ACL that same summer. It cost him more than a year on the sidelines.

He made his return to action last month, noting it was 374 days since his injury. Now he is beginning to kick on.

Ruben Curley bags brace

Ruben Curley scored his first goal for Manchester United’s under-18s side at the weekend, and then followed it up with another.

Curley led United to a 5-1 victory over Newcastle, with Shea Lacey (2) and Ethan Wheatley also on the scoresheet.

His second goal was particularly impressive. Curley dribbled into the box, threw off a defender with a shimmy, before curling the ball into the bottom corner.

It was a demonstration of what he is capable of, and a sign that Manchester United have a very promising prospect coming through the ranks, who is keen to finally show what he can do at this level.

Curley’s goals will be an inspiration to young winger Ethan Ennis, who suffered a torn ACL shortly after him, and is working towards his own injury comeback.

Under-18s can’t stop winning

Manchester United’s under-18s side cannot stop winning this season, by substantial scorelines. The team have won six games out of six this season, five in the league.

It means the young Red Devils sit top of the league with a 100 per cent record and goal difference of +13, and that is while rotating the line-up each week with some players splitting time at under-21 level too.

Some of these players will be in action in midweek in the UEFA Youth League against Galatasaray.
