Ruben Curley says operation on torn ACL was successful

Manchester United youngster Ruben Curley revealed last month he was ‘devastated’ to have suffered a torn ACL.

Now he has provided an update after undergoing an operation. Curley posted to Instagram to say he is now onto the next step of his recovery process.

Curley was one of two unfortunate Manchester United youngsters to suffer torn ACLs in August, following Ethan Ennis.

There is never a good time for a player to suffer a serious injury like this, especially a youngster who is attempting to make his way in the game.

Curley turned 17 this past month and he was expected to play a prominent role for Manchester United’s under-18s side.

The central midfielder made four appearances for the under-18s last season and also featured in the Super Cup NI pre-season tournament over the summer.

Curley will now be targeting a return for next pre-season, and while there is a long road ahead, it will certainly help both he and Ennis that they have each other for support as they push to recover.
