Manchester United’s academy are over in Northern Ireland this week to attempt to win the Super Cup NI, with some huge talents, one being Ben Lyne.
On Monday night, Ben Lyne scored for Manchester United against Intercontinental in the boys premier group stage clash in the Super Cup NI.
United won that game 2-0, in which there were some standout performers who are deserving of credit.
It is a really exciting age group with Jacie Dore headlining the squad, but equally exciting is Lyne. Here is everything you need to know about the Irish prospect.

Who is Manchester United talent Ben Lyne?
Born in the United Kingdom, with ties to the Cayman Islands, Ben Lyne is an Irish youth international capped at an U15 level with two goals in three games.
Lyne is an Irish citizen and is from Ennis in County Clare, where he played both football and Gaelic football.
Despite Irish young players being unable to move to England until they turn 18 due to Brexit, Lyne bypassed this rule due to being born in the Cayman Islands, where he represented Total Soccer Cayman during a tournament in England. Here he was snapped up by Wolves.
Lyne boasted a sensational youth scoring record at Wolves, which prompted United to pick him up last year, and now he is back on his home island playing in the red of United at one of the world’s most prestigious youth tournaments.
Despite originally being signed as a striker, with the Irishman scoring for fun, he has since moved into playing on the wing more frequently, which suits his explosiveness and power while running.
He has only just turned 15, but in the next year, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Darren Fletcher giving Lyne some opportunities in the U18 side.

Ben Lyne is also an avid Gaelic footballer
Like many young sportspeople on the island of Ireland, both north and south, there is more than just one football to be played, and Lyne was actually quite good at both the football he plays for United and also Gaelic football.
Before moving to Wolves, Lyne was an avid Gaelic player in county Clare, where he even helped Eire Og to win a U15 county football championship title at Cusack Park in 2025.
Lyne was said to be an excellent player, scoring a lot of points and goals in the native Irish sport before his move to United.
It is early days, but all signs indicate that Lyne is a talent worth Manchester United fans keeping an eye out for. He could become a lot more well-known after the Super Cup.
