Manchester United’s next generation started their Super Cup NI tournament with a win, where new and exciting talents showcased their ability.
The Super Cup NI tournament, held in Northern Ireland, is a youth competition with 35-minute halves, where some of the most exciting young teams play.
It is a tradition for Man Utd to take part, and it’s where some of the most precocious young talents have showcased their mettle before becoming first-team players.
Here’s who ruled the roost on day one of this year’s tournament as United started the day with a win.

Man Utd at Super Cup NI day one
David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, and Scott McTominay are just some of the names who have participated in this prestigious youth tournament.
This year, United are drawn against three teams – Intercontinental FA, Rangers, and County Antrim.
They kicked off their campaign against Intercontinental FA, an academy from New England, US.
United dispatched a tough opponent 2-0, with the goals coming from Ben Lyne and Jed Bangura.
Lyne, in particular, has been marked as one of the most exciting talents to emerge from the academy, so don’t be surprised if he makes an U18s appearance before the end of the season.
United’s next game will be against Rangers, and they’ll finish their league stage campaign with a game against County Antrim.
United were runners-up last year with a group that consisted of players like Jacey Carrick and Kai Rooney, so they will hope to go one step beyond this time.
