Manchester United youngster Malachi Sharpe is celebrating after completing a return from a one year absence.
Malachi Sharpe was one of three players Manchester United signed from Derby County’s academy in 2021, along with Sekou Kaba and James Scanlon.
Sharpe made a promising start, featuring as an underage player for the under-18s the season before last, and then disappeared from view.
Still only 17-years-old, the promising winger was back in the squad as the under-18s beat Reading in the Premier League Cup at the weekend.

Malachi Sharpe returns
Malachi Sharpe was a second half substitute in Manchester United’s win. It was his first appearance of 2023.
The Scotland under-17s international was pleased to make his return, ahead of what he will hope is a big season for him.
He wrote on Instagram: “After a year out I just wanna thank God for getting me back. Thanks to all my family, friends and coaches for helping me with my road to recovery, the hard work continues.”

Sharpe signed a professional deal with Manchester United last December.
Manchester United under-18s win again
It has been a successful start to the season for Manchester United’s under-18s side. At the weekend the team beat Reading 4-1.
This followed a 4-0 win over Middlesbrough and a 4-1 victory over Stoke.
Ethan Wheatley opened the scoring before Gabriele Biancheri took over with a hat-trick, his first treble for the academy since signing from Cardiff City earlier this year.
