Jim Thwaites has had a sensational campaign for Manchester United, which could yet get even better.
This season has seen Jim Thwaites step up as one of Manchester United’s top prospects, proving he is a future first-team player.
Thwaites has been lined up for a first-team debut, having dominated for the U18s this season and stepped into the U21s with ease.
Michael Carrick has given Thwaites first-team exposure, and this will only accelerate his breakthrough at United. But right now, Thwaites has unfinished business with the U18s.

Jim Thwaites responds to David Beckham comparisons
This season, Thwaites has been vital for the U18s in their quest for a quadruple.
Due to the brilliant technical quality he possesses, Thwaites has earned comparisons to David Beckham, with his long passing ability and set-pieces worth highlighting.
Speaking to the Daily Mail this week ahead of the Premier League Cup final at Selhurst Park, Thwaites has now reacted to these Beckham comparisons.
“Well, it wouldn’t be bad to be like him, would it?”, Thwaites said regarding the comparison.
“I’ve seen obviously stuff on social media, but I just try and stay grounded about it and focus on my own performances before looking at all that sort of stuff. Not a bad comparison, though!”
Comparisons to a great like Beckham could go to the head of other 18-year-old talents, but Thwaites has proven he has a good head on his shoulders.
Thwaites’ maturity in character and performances are a big part of his game, and not letting hype get to him is another sign that he will be a future United player.
His mentality will be his greatest strength on his journey to the first-team.
Predict who will be the next Manchester United academy graduate…
Will Michael Carrick crown number 259 before this season ends?🤔
Thwaites should be next Manchester United academy graduate under Michael Carrick
Thwaites is among the stars of the Class of 2026, with his ability to dictate a midfield making him a standout.
Since arriving in January, Carrick has noticed Thwaites‘ brilliance and has already started to integrate him into the first team.
Carrick is the perfect manager to grow Thwaites into a bona fide Premier League midfielder, given that he is a legendary midfielder himself.
Thwaites, therefore, appears to be next in line to graduate from Carrington and make his United debut.
With Champions League football almost wrapped up for United, Carrick should start giving youngsters a proper chance ahead of possible breakouts over the summer.
Thwaites is the next one up.
