Manchester United starlets Harrison Parker and Ethan Wheatley made their Under 18 debuts against Blackburn yesterday.

United slipped to a 4-1 defeat on a day when various players were off representing their national sides at youth level.

16-year-old Wheatley came on just around the hour mark, when the score was still 1-1 with United firmly in the game.

Defender Parker, 15, was introduced with a little more than 15 minutes remaining, by which point United were 3-1 down, after two quickfire goals.

After the game, the pair took to Instagram to celebrate their Under 18 debuts, which represent a proud and important milestone in their young careers.

Wheatley is a striker, so he will be looking to push on and find the back of the net at that level for the first time as soon as possible.

For Parker, it was a doubly big day, as he played in the Under-15 Floodlit Cup semi-final against Wolves that evening.

The game was played at Trafford FC and United reached the final after a 1-0 win.

Captain Shea Lacey got the winner after United’s keeper saved a penalty early in the second half, and Parker also celebrated that after the game.

Parker joined United after leaving Arsenal in the summer as United won the race for one of the country’s most highly rated teenage talents.

He scored his first England Under-16 goal in December and yesterday was another day to remember for him, despite the poor result.
