Chido Obi was among the goals for Manchester United on Saturday as the Red Devils won the U18 Manchester derby.
Darren Fletcher was audibly thrilled with his team throughout the game, with Chido Obi particularly earning plenty of praise.
Manchester United beat City 3-1, with Obi having a role in all three goals to varying degrees.
During the game, Obi could be heard getting praise from Fletcher for one specific reason.

He's improved a lot for Manchester United…
Chido Obi was working really hard for Manchester United in derby win
It was a sensational performance all-round from Obi, with his goal simply being the cherry on top of the cake.
However, it was the work rate and pressing that Fletcher absolutely loved.

It was only recently that there were reports of Travis Binnion being annoyed by Obi’s work rate, but his performance against City saw this massively improved.
Throughout the game, Obi put City’s defence under serious pressure with his running and pressing as Fletcher shouted praise from the sidelines.
“Yes, Chido!” he could be heard yelling. Also saying, “Good Chido”.
Fletcher also shouted, “Chido, well done.” Following one particular moment when his work rate won a free-kick that led to a goal.
Obi’s pressing also led to the opening goal as he got the touch to nick the ball from the defender and set up JJ Gabriel.
This is yet another sign Obi is developing as a striker this season, and he will be much better placed for the future, even if this campaign has been a step backwards for him.

Liam Bradford hails Chido Obi Manchester United display
This performance was a clear improvement for Obi, showing he has taken the advice and criticism on board to become a better player.
Speaking on MUTV during the game, Liam Bradford acknowledged the evolution of Obi.
“One of the hardest working performances I’ve seen from Chido Obi in a United shirt. He’s been brilliant.”
This was all done as Michael Carrick was at the City Academy grounds to watch his son Jacey Carrick and the U16s. However, he will also have had an eye on the U18s, and was spotted having a debrief with Darren Fletcher after the game.
Obi will want to be back in the first team mix, and games like this will stand him in good stead to do so.
