Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford was selected to start his first game of the 2022 World Cup for England against Wales.
The 25-year-old seized his opportunity, scoring a sensational second half free-kick to break the deadlock.
Rashford became the first Manchester United player to score a free-kick for England at the World Cup since David Beckham.
His goal was also the first free-kick goal scored by any player at the 2022 World Cup.

After Phil Foden had doubled England’s lead, Marcus Rashford went onto add his second as the Three Lions ran riot.
Rashford received a ball down the right flank, before cutting in, and firing a powerful shot in at the near post.
These strikes added to his goal against Iran in England’s opening game of the tournament.
England will face Senegal on Sunday at 7pm, with the African nation finishing second behind the Netherlands in Group A.
The Three Lions finished top of Group B, with USA clinching second place with a win over Iran.
Rashford came close to completing his hat-trick, seeing a late effort saved, before he was substituted for Jack Grealish in the 75th minute.
