Far away from being bothered by Salt Bae in Qatar, Lisandro Martinez is celebrating winning the World Cup in his native Argentina.

The Manchester United defender posted a photo on his Instagram page kissing the World Cup trophy and holding it tightly on the team’s open bus parade.

Martinez and the rest of the Argentina squad travelled straight back to their homeland to celebrate in front of hundreds of thousands of fans who have lined the streets.

Argentina’s World Cup win was their first since 1986 and third in history, with their first in 1978.

Martinez played 301 minutes during Argentina’s World Cup campaign, helping them reach the final, which they won on penalties against France.

The centre-back is a world away from Manchester United at present, with his Red Devils teammates preparing for a Carabao Cup clash against Burnley.

Several World Cup stars have returned, with the England and Brazil contingent back at Carrington after their quarter-final elimination.

Like Raphael Varane, Martinez has earned a little extra rest, and the Argentine will be celebrating a little longer. Just not too hard, hopefully.#
