England v France kick-off time and date as Manchester United stars set to go head-to-head

Manchester United’s stars are set to go head-to-head in a mouth-watering World Cup quarter-final on Saturday.

France will face England on Saturday night after both teams won their last 16 clashes.

Four Manchester United stars could feature

Raphael Varane will represent France in the clash as Les Bleus attempt to retain the World Cup.

They would become the first nation since Brazil (1958 and 1962) to win back to back World Cups, with Italy also accomplishing the feat in the 1930s.

He will go up against three clubmates representing England, with Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw.

Maguire and Shaw are certainties to start, while Marcus Rashford will be hoping to get the nod, after surprisingly being left on the bench against Senegal.

England v France kick-off time and date

The match will kick-off at 7pm on Saturday December 10 at the Al Bayt Stadium.

It will be the second quarter-final that day with either Morocco or Spain set to face Portugal or Switzerland at 3pm.

The winner of that quarter-final will face the victor of England and France in the semi-finals.

How they got there

Raphael Varane’s France reached the quarter-finals with a 3-1 win over Poland, with Olivier Giroud on target and Kylian Mbappe scoring twice. Robert Lewandowski scored a late consolation.

France won two group stage games over Denmark and Australia before a rotated team lost to Tunisia in the final group game.

England beat Iran and Wales in the group and drew with USA, before beating Senegal in the last 16.

Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka scored the goals to book the Three Lions’ place against France, with a 3-0 win.
