Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is a key man for club and country, in one of the most important seasons of his life.
With five Champions League titles to his name, Casemiro still wants to achieve more. He is desperate to win the World Cup.
Casemiro helped Brazil reach the semi-finals in 2018 and quarter-finals in 2014. He has 80 caps for his country.
At 33-years-old, World Cup 2026 is likely to be his last chance. This time he is led by his former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Ancelotti recalled Casemiro and reinstated him as Brazil captain, and the Manchester United midfielder is embracing the responsibility.

Casemiro imparts advice
As a veteran of two previous tournaments, Casemiro wants his Brazil teammates to learn from past mistakes.
In an interview with Globo this week, the in-form Manchester United midfielder was asked what advice he would impart to his teammates.
Casemiro explained that his biggest tip is to stay away from social media during the tournament.
He explained: “If you ask me if I can give a tip to a Brazilian player at the World Cup, I would say that if they could avoid using social media during the World Cup, it would be very important.
“I respect those who use it, those who post, everyone has their own life and I’m not here to judge anyone, on the contrary.
“I don’t even want to know what they do in their personal lives, but we know that behind the internet people are malicious.”
Casemiro praised by Brazilian manager
One of the managers in Brazil’s top flight responded to Casemiro’s comments and praised the midfielder’s words.
Coritiba boss Mozart Santos praised Casemiro’s wisdom: “That’s why he plays for Manchester and is a five-time Champions League winner.
“I am also totally averse to this kind of thing, which for me is an unnecessary distraction for anyone who works in football.
“I even tell my players: ‘don’t waste your time on things that don’t add anything to your lives’,” Brazilian outlet Bemparana reported.
Casemiro has been excellent in 2025/26 so far, here are his stats after 11 games
Casemiro praised Neymar as ‘indispensable’ and pledged to do everything possible to help him succeed.
He declined to give too much away on his future amid his expiring contract, insisting his focus is on Manchester United’s season, and then the World Cup.
United In Focus reports that Casemiro could be offered a contract extension on a reduced salary, with Ruben Amorim and the United staff pleased with his contribution.
But leave it too late, and they could end up negotiating with a World Cup winner.
