Transfer update: Frenkie de Jong, Antony, Ruben Neves, Robert Lewandowski

An update on where Manchester United’s transfer news for June 12 currently stands amid a flurry of reports…

Frenkie de Jong

Multiple sources report Manchester United are holding ongoing talks with Barcelona over the transfer of Frenkie de Jong, including BBC Sport and The Times.

United are looking to agree a fee with Barcelona for the midfielder, and then the Dutch international will have to agree to make the move to Old Trafford, where he would link up with former boss Erik ten Hag.

A report in The Mirror claims De Jong has been won over by the new United manager.

A further breakthrough could be imminent, but we are not quite there yet.

Antony

South American outlet Torcedores report Manchester United have made a proposal to sign Antony from Ajax.

Last week Goal Brasil reported Antony’s agents were travelling to Europe to try and clinch a move to Old Trafford.

Ruben Neves

A translated report via Sport Witness from Portugal claims Manchester United have made an offer for Ruben Neves.

It is claimed to be a superior offer to Barcelona’s, and Neves potentially could be coming in to partner De Jong rather than as an alternative – but lets see if this firms up with more reliable sources.

Robert Lewandowski

Manchester United are considering a move for Robert Lewandowski, The Sun report.

However, United won’t compete with Barcelona, and will only move for the Pole if his move to the La Liga side collapses.

A lack of Champions League football makes convincing the striker to join a tough ask for United.

Tom Heaton… out?

A separate report via The Sun claim goalkeeper Tom Heaton could leave Manchester United after just 12 months.

The back-up stopper is wanted on loan by Championship side Middlesbrough, although his future could be determined by what happens to Dean Henderson.
