Manchester United target Jeremie Frimpong is set to hold talks with Bayer Leverkusen about his future after the World Cup, says Florian Plettenburg.
Like Red Devils left-back Tyrell Malacia, Frimpong is yet to feature in Qatar for the Netherlands under former United boss Louis van Gaal.

Frimpong is currently playing under former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Spain midfielder Xabi Alonso at the BayArena.
The attack-minded right-back has five goals and three assists from 21 appearances so far this season.

Plettenburg has provided an update on United’s interest in Frimpong with the player now reportedly aware of Erik ten Hag’s interest, and he plans on speaking with the Bundesliga giants following the conclusion of the World Cup in Qatar.
The German reporter adds that Frimpong’s departure from Leverkusen is “more than possible” in 2023.
With Aaron Wan-Bissaka deemed surplus to requirements, Erik ten Hag would like to bring in another right-back if United’s number 29, who was signed for £50m from Crystal Palace three years ago, is sold, as per The Telegraph.
Frimpong looks to be on the former Ajax man’s radar and given that Ten Hag will likely be well aware of the former Manchester City academy graduate due to his Dutch connections, a move in January could be a real possibility.
Frimpong would provide competition and cover to Diogo Dalot, which Wan-Bissaka has been unable to do given that Ten Hag clearly doesn’t rate the former Eagles right-back.

Leverkusen’s number 30 has seven goals and 12 assists to his name form 68 appearances for Neverkusen after making the move to Germany from Celtic in January 2021.
Former Celtic and Omonia boss Neil Lennon spoke very highly of the Dutchman and enjoyed working with him.
Lennon told The Sun: “You can see what a player Frimpong is. He’s one of the best kids I’ve ever seen at that age.
“I’m just delighted what he brings to the game – defensively, offensively and the end product. He’s an outstanding talent.”
