Manchester United are reportedly ‘closing in’ on a deal with Fiorentina for their midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat. Reports from Italy today claim that there has been movement around the future of the Moroccan international, with the midfielder reportedly turning down Liverpool as he wants United.

According to a report from Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport, United are preparing to offer €25 million (£21 million) for the midfielder’s services with add-ons on top to sweeten the deal for the Italian side.

This reported offer could well be as a result of West Ham United’s reported interest in Scott McTominay according to TalkSport.

Amrabat is reportedly the top target to come into the United midfield if there are departures according to Fabrizio Romano.

Amrabat to miss training

To add to this, Gazzetta go on to say that Amrabat is set to miss Fiorentina’s pre-season training camp as a move to United ‘edges closer’. The Italian giants fly to Belgrade for their pre-season friendlies and it seems the 26-year-old will not be part of the squad.

The reported offer is under consideration from the Italian side, but, according to the same report, it is likely that they will accept the offer as it is close to their demands for the midfielder.

Amrabat performed exceptionally well in the World Cup in the winter, this prompted interest from United and Barcelona according to SPORT. United only wanted a loan for the midfielder but the Italian side wanted a sale according to the midfielder’s brother.

Amrabat ‘rejects Liverpool’

According to a different Italian outlet, this time Corriere della Sara, Amrabat had the opportunity to join United’s great rivals Liverpool but has turned down Jurgen Klopp’s advances.

As well as this, they also claim he has chosen United as his next destination in news which will certainly excite fans. After Alfredo Pedulla, another Italian journalist, confirmed contacts were ongoing.

This transfer could be one that progresses quite quickly if Fred or Mctominay are sold this summer, which has seemingly been required for a deal to occur.
