Ruben Neves has already publicly acknowledged the benefit of signing for Manchester United, back in 2020.
Manchester United are interested in a move for Al-Hilal midfielder Ruben Neves, and this was before injuries hit Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes.
A potential move for Neves was reported via United In Focus and later backed up by The Times, and the 28-year-old would add experience and quality to the team’s midfield.
Neves is in the final few months of his contract with Al-Hilal, and the timing of a move could be perfect for all parties concerned.
One of the attractions for Neves is to put himself back on the map at one of the world’s biggest clubs.

Ruben Neves faced Bruno Fernandes, playing alongside him will hold appeal
Ruben Neves knows Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes very well from their time playing together for Portugal.
And when Fernandes made his Manchester United debut in a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford against Wolves, Neves was one of his opponents.

Fernandes impressed in the draw and was given a great reception from the home crowd.
And speaking after the stalemate, Neves talked about his excitement for Fernandes’ move, quote via United media.
Neves said: “I’m really happy for him, he’s in a great club in a great league.
“Now he can show everyone what he can do. That is a lot, he’s a great player.”
Neves now has a similar opportunity to put himself back on the big stage, by joining ‘a great club in a great league’, if he wishes to do so, ahead of the World Cup.
As a regular in the Portugal squad, Neves played only 17 minutes of their recent 9-1 victory over Armenia. He has some work to do in order to nail down a starting spot in a very talented team.
Getting the chance to establish himself at club level alongside Fernandes has to be a top attraction for Neves.

Neves has unfinished business
Ruben Neves might have something to prove to Portugal, and he has already proven that he can produce consistent, top performances in the Premier League.
Neves played more than 30 league games in five consecutive Premier League seasons.
During his time in the Saudi Pro League he won the title with Al-Hilal, and also helped knock Manchester City out of the Club World Cup.
But there is plenty left to prove. Neves can join a team competing at the top end of the Premier League table, and will want to show that he is better than ever, at 28.
If he wants the move, he has already spelled out the benefits, with his comments from 2020.
