Two of the world’s best players want Manchester United move: Erik ten Hag was right

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag declared recently that players are excited at the prospect of joining the club this summer.

Erik ten Hag told the club website: “There were a lot of reservations when I spoke last year with players, [but] now many players see the project that is going on.

“The dynamic and the ambition in this project, and especially the quality. They are really keen to come.”

This is already being backed up amid reports two top level players have set their sights on a move to Old Trafford.

Neymar and Harry Kane want Manchester United move

Reports this week have emerged not only linking top strikers with moves to Manchester United, but insisting the players want to sign.

One of these is Neymar, with Footmercato reporting Manchester United are the only club he is willing to leave Paris Saint-Germain for this summer.

The other is reported to be Harry Kane. A report in The Sun claims Kane is reluctant to move abroad and Manchester United are the only Premier League club he would leave Tottenham for.

Now, there are big questions over whether United want to sign Neymar, and whether the club will be able to sign Kane or have the patience to deal with Daniel Levy.

But that’s not really the point. The clear message being shown is that Manchester United are being viewed as a ‘must sign for’ club by top players.

Whoever end up being Erik ten Hag’s chosen transfer targets, Kane, Neymar, or many others, the manager is going to have no trouble at all trying to convince them to join.

Manchester United’s arrow is trending up. Last summer the club was at a low ebb, clinging to pure hope that Erik ten Hag could turn it around.

Over the past 12 months we have seen what Ten Hag is capable of, with the manager restoring the club’s sense of identity, style, and winning mentality, with a trophy already in the bag.

No wonder players want to join up. While this season has not even ended yet, we can’t wait to see what Manchester United’s squad will look like when the next campaign kicks off.
