UPDATED: Manchester United are now favourites to sign goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.

Reports from Marca Turkey claimed earlier today there was an agreement for Bayindir to join Nottingham Forest.

But before that, Turkish reporter Gokmen Ozcan had claimed Manchester United had made a bid of around £6 million plus bonuses for Altay Bayindir.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein has since reported, at 5pm, that Bayindir was undergoing medical tests in Greece ahead of a possible move to Manchester United.

Nottingham Forest have been linked

Reports from Marca Turkey claimed there is an agreement for Bayindir to join Nottingham Forest. But it looks like Manchester United are in pole position.

Both clubs are looking at options after the proposed Dean Henderson switch between clubs did not work out.

United are still looking to shift Henderson, while Forest want competition for new signing Matt Turner.

The Red Devils are doing medical tests over a reported back injury Bayindir has, before moving further ahead with a deal. He has an agreement to leave Fenerbahce

‘United looking for back-up’

According to The Standard, Crystal Palace will hold further talks with Henderson in the coming days. United are also keen on Benfica’s Odysseas Vlachodimos and Feyenoord’s Justin Bijlow, though Zion Suzuki – an exciting young stopper with a superb passing range – has already rebuffed United’s advances in favour of first-team football in Belgium.

Tom Heaton is currently out with an injury, placing pressure on United to try and get a deal done to provide cover for Onana.
