Manchester United have been linked with a move for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice in this summers transfer window.

Erik ten Hag is keen on bringing in a new midfielder to bolster the ranks at Old Trafford. United look set to go head to head with Arsenal for the Englishman’s signature this summer with a fee north of £90m expected.

Therefore it has been suggested by the Daily Mail that United could look to include players in the deal, to bring the fee down.

So here are the three players we think could be used in a potential deal for Rice.

Harry Maguire

Harry Maguire is one player near guaranteed to depart The Theatre of Dreams this summer.

United’s captain hasn’t been a regular this season, instead dropping to fifth choice. Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw all ahead of number five in his position.

Maguire is on a rumoured £189,904 per week and so it is an important player to get off the books.

Maguire has also been linked with a move to West Ham as part exchange for Rice would be a smart move.

Scott McTominay

Scott McTominay is another player almost certain to depart this summer.

McTominay has a rumoured strong interest from Eddie Howe at Newcastle, however it could benefit United to offer him in a deal for Rice instead.

The Scotsman would be another smart move to include in the deal, and would be a good signing for West Ham, given the two play in similar positions.

It would also be useful to avoid strengthening a rival like Newcastle, so this would be the best choice.

Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial has been disappointing in recent years, to the point a departure seems inevitable.

He could therefore be an option to include in this deal given West Ham’s striker situation.

Michail Antonio is now 33 so isn’t getting any younger. While last years signing Gianluca Scamacca has been poor, raising questions about his suitability to David Moyes.

Therefore they could be on the hunt for a new number nine, why look any further than Martial who is proven in the league.
