Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel is the man who is most likely pushing the most for the German giants to sign Manchester United defender Raphael Varane.
Raphael Varane’s future at Manchester United looks to be hugely uncertain following the Frenchman being dropped by Erik ten Hag for last month’s Manchester derby.
Jonny Evans was deemed to have performed better for the Red Devils from the left of the back four and the Northern Irishman was chosen to partner Harry Maguire for the clash against Pep Guardiola’s side.
Since then, the Frenchman has been in and out of the side which has led to the former Real Madrid defender being linked with a move to Bayern Munich. He was on the bench against Everton yesterday.

Bayern’s interest
A report from FCB Inside has detailed that former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is the man who is most likely pushing the most for the 30-year-old defender.
The possibility of signing the Frenchman in January has been detailed as a ‘win-win’ as the defender’s age and experience are said to appeal to the German boss.
The amount of trophies Varane won at Real Madrid, in particular, is said to hold great appeal for the leaders of the German side, too.
Varane’s price, which is around €25-30 million (£21-26 million) according to the report, is said to also hold weight with those on the German side and a move may well be possible in the near future, the winter transfer window is a possibility.
Varane problem
Despite Tuchel’s interest in Varane, unsurprisingly, the big issue for the Bavarian side is that the Frenchman’s wages are described as ‘an issue’.
There is also his injury record, which has been less than stellar in recent years and is considered concerning, so there are certainly negatives when it comes to the signing of the Frenchman.
However, the report does go on to say that the positives of the deal far outweigh the negatives of signing the Frenchman with Tuchel reportedly ready to do all he can to sign Varane.
As for United, the search will most likely begin soon to identify the centre-back who will partner Lisandro Martinez when the Argentine returns from injury.
