Lyon defender Nicolas Tagliafico is not happy having been blocked from making a move to Manchester United this week.
We could now see three signings arrive at Old Trafford before the transfer window shuts on Wednesday.
Goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is poised to complete a move from Fenerbahce as a replacement for Dean Henderson following his move to Crystal Palace.
United remain in the market for another midfielder with Fiorentina ace Sofyan Amrabat the top target as things stand.
Then there is the chase of another left back, with United looking to cover for Luke Shaw’s injury and the continued absence of Tyrell Malacia.
Nicolas Tagliafico unhappy at blocked Manchester United move
One of Erik ten Hag’s top targets was Lyon left back Nicolas Tagliafico.
Fabrizio Romano reported earlier this week that United had made calls to ask about a potential deal for Tagliafico.
Tagliafico worked with Ten Hag at Ajax and the United boss has previously raved about the Argentinian.
A reunion would certainly make some sense but Lyon don’t appear to be keen on letting him leave.
MORE UNITED STORIES
Goal reporter Marc Mechenoua suggested this week that United only wanted a straight loan deal whereas Lyon wanted a mandatory purchase clause.
The situation has left Tagliafico unhappy according to Foot Mercato, who claim that the left back had a ‘dim view’ of Lyon refusing to let him go.
United’s offer was considered ‘very good’ but owner John Textor has blocked the move.
Tagliafico is now watching on as Lyon allow top talent Bradley Barcola to join Paris Saint-Germain yet won’t accept United’s proposal.
Tagliafico wants to leave but there is ‘no longer any chance’ of a departure before the deadline.

Who could United sign instead of Tagliafcio?
United have been linked with a host of left backs in recent days from Sergio Reguilon to Marcos Alonso.
The strongest rumour so far appears to be Marc Cucurella, who is out of favour with Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Reporter Nizaar Kinsella of The London Evening Standard claims that Cucurella to United on loan ‘should’ go through before the deadline.
Kinsella adds that there is a small gap between the clubs in terms of the valuation of the loan fee required.
Cucurella looks set for United with Tagliafico now facing up to staying with Lyon at least until January unless a Saudi Arabian approach arrives.
