A bid for Andre Onana has been made, however a move likely hinges on the outcome of talks with David de Gea.
It seems clear that Cameroonian number one Andre Onana is Manchester United’s prime goalkeeping target. This due to the reported ongoing discussions between Inter Milan and United.
However MEN have reported this morning that moving forward with a deal for Onana, it is dependant on David de Gea.
The contract for United’s long term goalkeeper expired last week, however it is believed the club still expect contract talks. With the report adding that face-to-face talks will be held over a possible renewal.

It was originally thought that De Gea had accepted an reduced contract offer before United withdrew it. MEN sources say this was due to the Spaniard’s horrific end to the season, playing key errors in the defeats to Sevilla, West Ham and Manchester City.
This could be why Erik ten Hag is so keen on signing Onana, who he once described as “masterful”. Despite the face-to-face talks planned, United surely wouldn’t be bidding for Onana unless they were set on him.
The latest with Andre Onana to United
An update was given this morning from Fabrizio Romano who revealed United had verbally offered Inter a proposal for Onana.

The offer is said to be ÂŁ39million as a total package. It includes add-ons, so this offer is far from the reported asking price of ÂŁ51.4m.
Inter are reportedly set on their asking price and there isn’t any agreement at this stage. However Onana is keen on the move which is a plus for United.
While the Daily Mail say, ten Hag has requested Onana be signed for pre-season. The club however do not expect this to be a quick process as they are waiting for the talks with de Gea to conclude.
