Manchester United are now the clear favourites to sign Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.
Manchester United’s planned move to sign Mason Mount is gathering speed. The England international is expected to leave Chelsea this summer.
It is now being reported by The Athletic that Manchester United are Mason Mount’s top choice of club to join.
The 24-year-old is out of contract in June 2024, leaving Chelsea with a difficult decision to make.

Manchester United are Mason Mount top choice
Mason Mount’s talks with Chelsea over a new deal have reached an impasse and it is strongly expected he will move on this summer.
According to The Athletic, he has identified Manchester United as his preferred destination and “other clubs interested in the 24-year-old are aware of his preference.”
This includes Liverpool, who The Athletic reported in March were regarded as the club most advanced in the race for Mount’s signature.
Arsenal and Bayern Munich have both been linked, but it is Manchester United who Mount reportedly wants to join.
One of the keys to this is likely to be the prospect of playing Champions League football next season, which Liverpool look unlikely to be able to offer.
United need only one point from the remaining two matches this season to lock up a top four place. One of these games is against Mount’s Chelsea tonight.
Mount has had a tough season for Chelsea, but so has their whole squad. A fresh start working under Erik ten Hag could be exactly what he needs to get back on track.
